A brief description Bervid Custom Building, Inc.

Honesty, Integrity, communication and trust have all become cliché and overused in the construction industry.  But these values are exactly what Bervid Custom Building has built its business upon for almost 40 years.  John Bervid started in the construction trade as union carpenter.  Since those humble beginnings John has gone on to build over 200 homes in the Tahoe basin    John steadily grew his business by cultivating strong relationships with his clients, tradesmen, and suppliers.  From the early days when most of his business was done with a handshake and his word, the business has evolved to meet the high demands of today’s construction industry.   John’s vast knowledge of the Tahoe building process has proved to be invaluable.   In addition to running Bervid Custom Building he also serves as an advisor / consultant to municipalities and other organizations.  John has also trained some of Tahoe’s current top award winning builders, with whom he still remains close friends.  Relationships remain at the core of the Bervid family business.  .

Now in its second generation Bervid Custom Building continues to build on this strong foundation.  Eric, John’s son, has been on the jobsite for as long as he can remember. In addition to his on-site experience Eric went on to study architecture.  Now with over 25 years experience, Eric serves as the on-site superintendent and insures that Bervid Custom Building’s highest standards are adhered to.  He believes communication and trust have been the key to the Bervid’s longevity.  This is demonstrated by frequent contact with the owners to keep them apprised of the building process. Another term often misused is “Custom Home”.  Eric’s strict attention to every detail truly creates a one of a kind custom home for the owner.

Bervid Custom Building has built its reputation on building new high-end custom homes and true “Old Tahoe” historic restorations. Often times after building a home, the client will retain Bervid Custom Building to maintain their homes.  Some of these working relationships have lasted generations
